Supplemental Security Income

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is similar to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). Both provide benefits to those who are not able to work due to qualifying disabilities. However, while SSDI requires you to have paid Social Security taxes, SSI does not.

If you meet certain income and asset restrictions, you may be eligible for SSI benefits, regardless of whether you have even held a job or not.

At the North Carolina law firm of Parker & Frey PLLC, we help individuals in Dunn, Fayetteville and throughout the surrounding areas seek SSI benefits. The attorneys at our firm will work closely with you throughout the entire process to encourage the exchange of information and to keep the case moving along in an expedient manner.

SSI Benefits For Children

Adults aren't the only ones who can obtain SSI benefits. Children can, too. If your son or daughter has a marked and severe impairment in functioning, you may be able to obtain money and medical benefits for him or her. (Note: Your household must still meet the asset and income restrictions.)

Was Your SSI Claim Denied?

Perhaps you already applied for SSI and had your claim rejected. If so, you still have options. Our lawyers can help you file an appeal. We have experience with reconsideration requests, hearings before administrative law judges and other levels of appeal.
