On Behalf of | Nov 18, 2021 | Workers' Compensation |

Everyone knows that construction workers have some of the most dangerous jobs out there. Sadly, many of them experience injuries at some point in their career. Recently, it was reported that a construction worker in North Carolina suffered serious injuries on the job. This individuals story is all too common.

What happened?

The truth is that little has been reported about this particular event. What is known is that the construction worker was at a job site near Benson Drive and St. Albans Drive in Raleigh when a trench collapsed. This event occurred Saturday, Oct. 18, at approximately 11 a.m.

How the victim is doing?

The victim, who was not identified in the news report, was transported to an area hospital. He was listed in serious condition. It is unclear if, at this point, he is still being treated as an inpatient or if he is to the point where only outpatient care is needed. This individuals prognosis was not released to the public.

Compensation may be available

When North Carolina construction workers suffer injuries on the job, they may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses by filing workers’ compensation claims. If this type of claim is approved, one might receive money for lost wages and medical expenses. One might also receive further assistance if the injuries render one disabled — among various other benefits. Getting an insurance provider to pay out full and fair compensation may prove challenging, however. Legal counsel can help with filing the claim and negotiating maximum relief.
